I’m a freshman who is taking ap euro next year along with three honors classes. I was just wondering how hard is ap euro? I’ve been good at social studies my whole life. Social studies has always been my easiest subject for me but I’m wondering how hard ap euro will be though.
It’s hard to say. Some schools pile on a lot of busy work onto APs and others teach them more like college courses. Personally, I think it’s rare that a high school freshman really has the experience to write and analyze like a college student. My son who is a history nut did not find AP Euro hard, but he took it has a senior having already done AP World as a sophomore and APUSH as a junior. He got 5’s on all of them, and continued to get A’s in history classes at Tufts. He had already done a lot of outside reading that was relevant to the class before he ever took it.
My D has found it to be relatively easy, but that’s the one AP teacher she has who sometimes gives busy work but doesn’t pile on a lot at once. You need to ask kids at your own school to be certain, but my guess is that if you are a good reader and have a strong memory, you should be fine.
It can vary a great deal. Depends on the HS. Depends on the teacher. I’d ask people in your HS who took the course.
