I was accepted for Food Science which was my first choice major, but now I want to switch to Biomedical Engineering. Can I do this before school starts? Or do I have to take classes for a quarter and then move to the engineering school?
And how easily will this happen? I would like to transfer out of Davis to a better school for BME so I don’t really want to waste a lot of time on Food Science credits.
Thanks
No.
You need to be here at least a quarter to switch majors, but for engineering there are additional requirements. The requirements are here: http://bme.ucdavis.edu/undergrad/advising/change-of-major/ . Once you have those, you just fill out the form and switch. As long as you fulfill the requirements listed there, you won’t get denied.
