How hard is taking 20 units?

I am attempting to finish up my GE by the end of spring quarter because I'm trying to transfer out. I only have 3 requirements left, but I also want to take French 5 because it's a major pre-req for everywhere I applied to. Anyone who has taken 20 units, is it doable?

The classes I would be taking are:
AMS 5, Statistics (I'm terrible at math)
LTCR 10, Intro. to Creative Writing
Either a History or HAVC class to satisfy the ER requirment
French 5

Thanks

I haven’t taken 20 quarter units, but I’m taking 19 semester units, which, due to the 2:3 ratio of quarter to semester units, is supposedly more than 20 quarter units. I feel like it really depends on the areas in which you excel, the professor, the nature of the class, your time management skills, etc, so its hard to say for sure. For example, I took 17 units last semester here at my CCC and it was a breeze. I’m taking 19 now and I have very little free time, but that’s just the nature of the courses I selected and the workload of the professors.

I know you’re some kind of a literature major, so writing wouldn’t be too difficult for you I’m assuming. A GenEd history course should be easy, as well as your intro to creative writing (aside from the time spent writing papers). If math isn’t a strong point of yours, I would weight more time into studying for that course in order to pass it, so plan on that. Any language course at the college level is very time consuming, or so I hear from people taking them…

If you’re extremely dedicated and have awesome time management skills necessary to complete the requirements, then 20 quarter units are doable. My advice to you (I do this every time I pick classes) would be to go to rate my professors and look up the reviews of the course/professor you’re interested in taking. The reviews are brutally honest and will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect before you register for classes. It really has been a great informational source for me so far! Hope that helps! Let me know if you need anything else. :)

Its definitely doable. I did it in the winter, took ams5, chem1a, writing2 and havc70. i took havc70 as Pass/No pass… you might want to consider taking one of those course as P/NP if you worried about the workload.

I’m in 27 units at the moment, no problem.
