How I register for class at CSULB? And some questions regarding FAFSA and orientation.

Hi guys,

Sorry if this is a noobish question, but the help page at CSULB does a terrible job at helping me at this. The student’s home page is also bad and confusing compared to El Camino’s page.

I have been admitted to CSULB for the Spring, I already pay the $150 fee and signed up for the mandatory orientation in January. Yet, I still haven’t been able to register for any classes yet. It’s already November, and I believe the list of available class is already out on the main website. I can’t find any link that allows me to register for a class. So, am I still missing anything? What is the orientation about? What does it consist of? Would I have to do anything complicated? I already filled out the paper for my college to transfer my transcript to LB. Will this take long, and would it affect my registration? What about my financial aid status? Since it’s in the Spring, I’ll need to redo my FAFSA again anyway, right?

By the way, when I click on the class’s status, it says that there are only 20 seats available. I thought university must have bigger classes than college.

Congratulations!

See last section here about registering for the Spring semester. http://web.csulb.edu/depts/enrollment/registration/basics/new_students.html

I checked my registration date on MyCSULB and it says that I am not allowed to register for class yet. So apparently, it wouldn’t let me do anything until I have attended the orientation in January. Wouldn’t that be too late, though? :v

You should contact an advisor! You can’t register until you’ve seen one.
