How Important are 3rd Quarter Grades?

Do colleges factor in your 3rd quarter grades at all? Obviously they would if you started failing your classes, but do they really care as long as they are decent grades?

I have a test tomorrow that i probably won't do well on and i'm trying to make myself feel better

Assuming you're a senior, yeah they care.

If you're not a senior, it's very important. Especially if you're a junior.

And it really depends on the college. Harvard will look very closely, but the local cc won't give a flying **** how you do.

And one test shouldn't kill your grade. Good luck.

I thought colleges only looked at Midyear grades

Most colleges won't know your 3rd quarter grades until after you enroll. Unless you fail to get a 2.0 (or some other stated GPA point) you'll keep admission.

Yeah i am a senior and i just want to know if i can relax a little bit for the second half of my senior year.

I'm applying to a couple top 20 colleges and i figured they can't see the grades until the end of the quarter which would mean they had probably already made their decision. And I'm not talking about huge dips just maybe from an A to a B or something of that sort.

Any other help? The replies i have so far have different answers so i don't really know which one is right.
