How important are subject tests?

The title says it all. I have very high ACT and AP scores, but my SAT subject tests definitely leave something to be desired. Is this a major deal-breaker? I'm out of state too, and I didn't get the "borderline" supplement.

Engineering, sciences, mathematics, it’ll hurt you, humanities not so much. But engineering the most.

What’s your major and your test scores?
Applying for MCB and getting a 500-600 on the subject test’ll kill you.

Yeah I applied, for engineering and got in the low 600s, do I have no chance? Even with good math grades and a 5 on AP Calc?

You got low 600s on the Math II subject test? That is really low…something like 20% of people get 800 on that one. But I think if you have a solid ACT score then you’ll probably still get in. It’s not a deal-breaker.

I think I must’ve gotten off on my numbering or something. Yeah I have a 34 composite ACT with a 33 on Math, so this low score won’t kill me?

I think you’ll be fine.

thanks for the relief! I guess we’ll see haha
