How Important is AP ENGLISH?

I took AP English my Junior Year and managed to get an A and A- over the two semesters. It was alot of work. At my school English classes are a significant workload.

I'm seriously considering taking Honors English next year, because of the rest of my class schedule and my Extracurriculars. I do a significant amount of work for extracurriculars. I'm creating and Art Portfolio, Editor in Chief for Design and Art in the Yearbook, I run two Humanitarian/Tolerance clubs at school, an active member of Model UN, and working on my own business called Art for Humanity.

Thus, AP English is really not something I am interested in taking again next year. I will be taking AP European History, AP Calculus BC, AP Art History, and either AP Physics and Regular Economics or AP Economics and Advanced Honors Physics II. I'm still deciding on the last two courses (Recommend if you have advice)

Anyways I'm looking to apply to Ivy league schools. My dream is Princeton. I know this is a far reality for most kids. But could anyone leave any advice on course selection, and specifically how important is it for me to add AP English Literature in my schedule. I just don't want to sacrifice the grades of my other classes.

Thanks if you read this all! =]

I think your other classes seem rigorous enough that Honors English would probably be fine.

And as to Physics vs Economics...just take whichever you're more interested in.

I would look at the credits you would earn at the colleges you are interested in. If the placement that you would earn from AP Lit would be worth it (as in getting out of freshmen English), I would take it.

However, there's no reason to I wouldn't if it's just for a resume and it's going to hurt all the way around (grades, satisfaction).

Psst...Lit kicked my butt too.

okay, yeah thanks everyone. i'm still undecided.
