<p>Considering UVa asks for 2 SAT II, I would say they are somewhat important. Anyway, its not like they are hard, and they take only 2 hours of your time.</p>

<p>you need to take them, but you don't have to do ridiculously well. if you just blow off something, that is never a good message to a college. however, if you don't have all 750+s then it's not the end of the world. if you don't have any over 700, well, then that might be problematic.</p>

<p>The official wording has changed. We now "strong recommend" that you talk the SAT IIs. No subjects are given.</p>

<p>If your dream school "strong recommends" something, you probably should try to do it.</p>
