AP exams are coming up. Not to mention SAT/SAT 2, etc, etc..

My high school, and I bet everyone's also, is piling them up with hw and tests and crap. These last 2 weeks have been a hell for me...20 chapter apbio test, 6 chapter apush test, ap lit test, and then other crap. It is so annoying. THen they pile us up with homework after school which takes a millenium.

I'm not complaning. I enjoy learning and stuff. But I don't understand how they expect us to do our homework and then studyf ro AP testing and the SAT??

for apush, i already finished princeton..but yesterday i got amsco and i was like holy frick!!1 700 pagees!!!!!! omg...i havent started

plan on starting tomorrow because too much hw gah lol
then i got to study bio ap and ap lit.....

dude, relax. if u finished princeton u don’t need to freak out about not knowing amsco. u only get tested on general concepts anyways, for the most part.

I study throughout the year so I don’t have so much pressure during one period of time. Even for the SAT’s, it helps to study over the course of a few months so you aren’t simply cramming information in all at once. You tend to do better on them as well, same for AP’s.

Relax. I’m a junior too, and although I’m slightly worried, it is not that bad. Just because you see that AMSCO is about 650 pages, you have too realize that about 35-45% of the book is actually study material. Most of that stuff teaches you how to write DBQs, a thesis, and the book also includes world lists w/ practice questions. So just b/c you see 600+ pages don’t expect that you have to read all of it.

For the SAT, you should be able to study for math in writing in a day. That can easily boost your score into the 650+ range. As for critical reading, if you are not good at it (as in you can’t consistently score 650 or more) you should take the time to get the Official Collegeboard SAT study guide and do some practice tests. I would recommend that you search the SAT prep link on this site.

Finally for biology (I still haven’t quite figured this out), but what I do is just read smal parts in my free time.

Try to see if you can push your SAT 2 tests to June, so that you have some time off from school to study for them. That way, you have time to thoroughly prepare for them.

I know how you feel (especially because if it were not for Spring Break, I do know how I would have made it through the end of the year), but stop panicking and start reading. Make sure you spend you time wisely. The SAT is not as hard as many people make it to be, just go to the SAT prep on this site.

SAT is not really hard. I can study math for a few hours the night before and boost my score from like 670 to 740. Critical Reading is just having a good vocab. The multiple choice for writing is easy as I don’t know what. It’s basic grammar.

My sister didn’t study for APUSH and got a 5. Two of her friends read all of AMSCO and got 5s. I read like 90% of AMSCO and got a 4. The main thing is starting with a good knowledge base. If you have been doing well in APUSH and know all your stuff, you’ll do well.

Tests don’t bother me much. I mostly only study for the ones in math (Calc BC). For Art History I just look at each image and memorize artist, title, style, etc. Really easy. In Human Geography I have to do a lot of prep because we have to write a ton of definitions, but that’s actually homework due on test day. I don’t study. The main thing is knowledge base, again. Pay attention in class, do your homework (if necessary. Do as little as possible, concentrate on HW in the impo classes) and you can do well with very little test prep.

“but i have barely made a dent in my bio book…only did like 8 chapters so far”

i’ve reviewed 0 chapters so far. we still have to get through like 5 chapters before the AP test, which means like 3 tests in < 2 weeks. & i’m barely getting a B;it may drop. ■■■.

smarteeangel101, well it seems as if you are going to either have to drop study for a test, or must spend your weekends from now on reading those books. Your choice.

haha we must all make sacrifices!!! But I agree–the schools load us down with hw that is totally pointless. I mean, if it actually helped, I wouldn’t mind…

I had to start waking up at 6:00AM just to workout because I just don’t have time after school with all the hw and studying :(
