Schedules.

ugh, i just got my schedule, and i signed up for ap comp gov, ap english, ap euro, ap chem, and ap calc. i got none of them because they are all fourth period, and during fourth period i have to take advanced sports medicine, because i have to finish a two year internship because it is my major ec. so i have no ap classes my senior year. ugh, this really sucks for me. i hate my school.

anyway, what are you guys taking next year? and does anyone know if you can write independent study classes on your transcript if you dont get a letter grade for them?

At my school they go on your transcript, and you get a letter grade. I don't know, however, what your school is like.

i think at my school you just meet with your teacher who gives you the work for the class, but they dont actually grade it? i think you just do it by yourself. so i wouldnt have a grade, but do you think it would show up on my transcript that i did the independent study?

I seriously doubt it would go on your transcript.

yeah, thats what i was thinking. i wonder what i could do then, because i really dont want to have no aps for my senior year. even if i self-studied for the tests, that would be way after decisions came out. do you have any suggestions?

Self-report that you are studying them. Either on the schools application where it asks for AP scores/ AP's you're going to take this year, or in an "additional info." section.

lmao. i love the days when people complain about NOT getting ap classes.

why would you complain about getting an ap class? if you didnt want it, you wouldnt sign up for it in the first place, right?

ap comp gov, ap english, ap euro, ap chem, and ap calc

That's pretty friggin retarded that your school would put all its AP classes in the same period. That's basically setting you all up for failure.

But for independent study of APs, colleges will know you self studied when you report your AP exams and they see that you took an exam you didn't have a class for.

^Not if you're a senior. You have to self-report it to let them know. Otherwise, they won't find out until July whatever, long after accept/reject letters have been sent.

yeah, thats my problem.

My utterly suicidal courseload for this year:

AP Calculus BC
AP Physics C
AP Economics (micro & macro)
Japanese 5H
English
Film Study (minor)
Science Research (minor)

And Gym, and CPR, and Driver's Ed... o.O

what does minor mean?

At my school, a class is either a major - meets every day, or 4 out of 5 days, OR it's a minor, and meets every other day.

oh, thats interesting. we have no block schedule, everything just meets each day.

We have 4 x 4 block. :) I loveeee it.

My school runs on a ten day schedule, so things vary by day. It makes life more interesting. Honors and AP classes meet every day, but other classes usually don't meet one day a week ( a "free" ) so that students can meet with the teacher if they need to, or eat lunch. My school doesn't give us lunch periods... =(

That's kind of stupid that your school puts all the AP classes in the same period. Colleges should know that you self-studied, though, if you take the AP tests and your transcript doesn't show those classes.

My school has block scheduling and what do they do? They give me all 4 of my AP cllasses on the same day!!!!!!!!! AP callc, AP stats(really hard at my school) AP US gov and AP english all on the same day :'(

Schedule for my junior year:
