I'm still deciding and would like to know how is the college life at Drexel for an International student?

It’s a big school. Does no one have anything to say?

Haha I think the fact that no Drexel students have answered so far should be evidence enough to prove that they’re very active and busy :))

All jokes aside, as a Drexel undergrad, I’ve never really found myself bored. There are a ton of student organizations; at a school this large and this diverse, there’s bound to be something of interest to everyone. We’ve got everything from the Drexel Jedi Club to the Drexel football team (Which is actually an improv comedy team) to an enormous multi-level athletics program (In addition to the cultural component the school has based in the basketball team, there are also club and intramural sports for those who want to get involved at a non-varsity level).

Drexel also has multiple different groups that organize big events for the school. To name a couple, one that I’m in is Weekend Warriors. We hold cheap/free events most weekends ranging from things like bonfire cookouts to hikes to paintball excursions to ski trips. It’s a really awesome way to get away from the hustle-bustle of University City, even if it’s just for a part of the weekend. There’s also a Campus Activities Board, a student group that works with the university to do all sort of events for the school, including concerts (Where we get pretty big names. We’ve got Krewella coming in a month, we had Childish Gambino in the fall, OK-GO and B.o.B were here year, the list goes on), Philadelphia-centered events (Ice skating at a famous ice rink in Philly known as Penn’s Landing, trips to museums) and just cool events around campus (One example is a Wipeout contest, where they brought in these giant inflatable obstacle courses into the gym and you got timed as you ran through them).

Outside of Drexel, you’re in Philadelphia, the fifth largest city on the east coast. If you can’t find something for yourself at Drexel, you’ve got a whole city a breadth away; If you can’t find something that interests you or to occupy your time outside of classes, you simply just need to expand your horizons, I think.

Just one last note about being an international student; I think about 15% of Drexel students are international students. While I’m from the US, I notice a lot of student organizations for various nationalities that I think help many international students stay connected and maintain some of their heritage while adjusting to American culture. I’m not sure exactly how many there are, but if you google your nationality and “drexel organization”, I’m sure something will turn up!

Good luck to you on your search!

The last note is surely to help. :)
