So i unfortunately did not get any of my choices. In fact Stern Hall was a completely random choice and i got a triple too.

So how is living in Stern like? And how is living in a triple like too?

It’s very quiet, so it’s ideal for studying. Also, the rooms in Stern are slightly larger than the Units for the same price.

there’s only girls

Well T_nacious, I’m with you there. I signed up for the units and I ended up getting a Stern triple. I was a bit bummed at first, but hey, it can’t be THAT bad. And plus, it’s not as sketchy at night…

Stern is awesome. There’s way more of a sense of community and solidarity than there is in the Units, and it’s generally really fun (if you want it to be and help make it that way, obviously). Great proximity to campus and you get to eat at the best dining commons in the system. It’s super safe, as well–the most you have to worry about are wayward deer, haha.

Stern triples are definitely larger than those in the Units (I’d venture to say the largest, excluding Clark Kerr), and the building is pretty cozy, in its own way.

Best part: The Traditions. Between Bowles and Stern are some of the best Cal traditions–if your RA doesn’t initiate you in them, find one (or a mentor) who will, pwahaha.
