How is living at the Radisson? Did anyone put that down as one of their choices?

How is student life for those living at the Radisson?

Has anyone put it down for one of their choices for next year?

From what I’ve heard, many people don’t want to live at the Radisson because it is slightly off campus and less social. However, after visiting USC I discovered that it’s really literally a one minute walk from the other dorms. I’m not exactly sure what student life is like there, but I’m pretty sure that each room has air conditioning and its own bathroom, so that’s a plus.

I heard that life at the Radisson basically depends on the people on your floor. So fun/social people will make for a fun/social time, but a quiet group of people will keep the floor quiet. I’ve talked to some people who have lived there, and they loved it. They said there really isn’t much partying in the hallways, but I’d rather go to a party elsewhere and come back to my nice, clean, quiet dorm room, anyway. I put it down for one of my choices, but if I find a roommate who doesn’t want to be there, I’d probably change my first choice to Birnkrant.

Hi, I’m a current USC student and I talked to some housing people a while back (around February) and they said they’ve been trying to eliminate the Radisson as a housing option for a while now. From what I understand, this year is the closest they’ve been able to come to getting rid of it however, that doesn’t mean that they will follow through.

So basically, the fact that they’re still offering it as an option is a good indicating that they will be using it as housing next year, but don’t get your hopes too high if you really want to live there.

The situation is really the other way around. For many years, the Radisson was trying to get its floors back, because the hotel business was booming. However, USC still wanted to continue using the space for students. Because the economy is doing so poorly now, the hotel business is no longer doing as well. Now, the hotel is perfectly happy to have students living in their building. It will be an option next year for housing.
