is it looked down upon over here

It's not very impressive. Take Math II.

If you going into the sciences/engineering you need to take Math IIc or it will look like you are hiding something.

haha i took math 1 and got a 520!!! i forgot my friggin calc. im hoping my still mediocre 680 on SATI math will balance it out to a still ****ty 600

Haha, don't worry. I got a 570 WITH a calc. Funny, considering I got a 660 on the SAT I's, and a 31 on the Math ACT. Hopefully, they'll look at that 31, and realize it was just a bad day. Hopefully...

If you do well on the IC and on the SAT I you'll be fine. I got 750 on the IC and 800 on the SAT I and got into engineering.

they will look at it with passion!

i think people do worse on IC than on IIC hahaha. 1 question wrong is like -50 points while IIC has like a 13 question curve. i didn't double check my IIC answers and got a 800 but i had to check IC 2.5 times for that 800. so id say take IIC if you can but they definitely wont look down on the IC unless you seriously did bad lol

yeah the curve is a LOT better on the IIC so it kinda turns out that people do better on it.

I applied to engineering with math 1(730) and chem (750). i had an 800 on sat regular math though and had already taken calculus. i wasn't aware that i should take math 2 though. well, we will see how they looked at it tomorrow i guess.

I got a 790 on the Math1 but never bothered to take the MathII.. Yikes, I hope they won't look down on it..

Wait ... You dont need a calculator in the math I ... It isnt THAT hard? I can imagine MATH I being tricky and MATH II more of knowledge based

HELLA true. i dont double check, and i got 800 on IIC without much efforts while 780 on IC with like ONE question wrong (i think).. :T

Math IIC is, in my opinion, a lot easier than IC.. you can get like 8 wrong and still get a 800 while on IC, you have to have it PERFECT or else it's 700s for you...

you have to look at percentiles. a 750 on math 1 is a high percentile than on math 2, by probably 10 percent or more

I think an 800 on Math 2 is like 90 percentile.
