How is my GPA?

Freshman: 3.29/3.43
Sophomore: 3.71/3.86
Unweighted Cumalitive: 3.5
Weighted: 4.22

I'm pretty nervous because I did really badly Freshman year. I'm a rising Junior and I have taken the most rigorous course load available to me and will continue to do that next year and Senior year. All my grades have been A's + B's. No C's.

your freshman GPA is pretty ugly if you ask me. but your sophomore GPA is pretty good. try to do at least 2-4 hours of homework every night you get homework. it may sound like too much, but the more practice you do, the more likely you’ll do better in school and your grades will go up.

Actually HW is my problem. I get A’s on most tests and quizzes. I just don’t do my homework which brings my grade down because its worth a lot.

My freshman GPA was b/c I had just switched to public school and I was really mad about it bc I had gone to private school for 9 years and wanted to stay there.

Then do your homework. You said right there that you dint do it and it brings your grade down. You won’t have anything to worry homework affecting your grade if you do it :]

I know I’m working on that but stroll I’m worried how Soph/Fresh year will affect me

I’m quite sick of folks on CC judging GPAs and grades so harshly. A 3.5 UW is totally fine. Which schools are you looking at?

That’s why I posted it bc I see all these people like I only have a 3.8. That makes me really nervous

terribad altho at least you showed improvement =/

To : hbd… I cant rememember the rest. It really depends on the school youre applying to or the school you come from. UCs tend to put GPA before.class rank while LACs (at least the ones ive looked at emphasize class rank) the problem with that is that there are a lot of highschools that have DNR, and homeschoolers that applt, and often get in, to large public universities.

A 3.5 will still get you into a solid college, as long as the other parts of your application are good. If you do your homework and keep your grades up, the upward trend will look good. You should be able to get up to an A- average in two years. Which would be a solid, solid GPA.

Speaking as one of those people who probably has said “I only have a 3.8” it all depends on that persons situation. My first choice wants very high test scores and GPA’s and two of my closets friends are likely to tie for valedictorian, so for me a 3.8 is not ideal/low among my friends. But anyway that is really off topic.

You have an upward trend on your grades, as long as you keep them high you will have a nice selection of colleges that are realistic. The admission people I have talked to say they sometimes overlook a low GPA in the beginning if you brought it up later. Keep up the EC’s and you should be fine.

I agree, but some colleges do.
