How is Stern socially?

How is university different from high school socially? How has your after high school experience been socially?

College in general is more social. Most classes only meet 2-3 times a week and you have more time to do other things like meet new people or hang out/work.

No doubt every school is “social” in its own way.
Coming from a state school (hint: football, lion), I can tell you that if you’re looking for a strong social scene in terms of a college-feel, NYU in general is not for you.

And I usually don’t discuss politics, but I feel I need to say. The student body at NYU is way too liberal. Just an observation.

Don’t think that is just NYU. New York City is pretty liberal in general.

I’m from SoCal…and NYC/NYU is wayyyy liberal for my taste.

Obviously, since I am asking about NYU I am going for liberal.
State schools are not in my focus, just not my thing. Let’s not get into politics!
We will cause an argument on that issue.

Actually, Stern tends to be more conservative than the rest of NYU, which is expected.

To answer the OP’s question though, Stern is not not social. Stern is pretty much just like any other college; it’s all what you make of it. However, I will say that Stern is much more of a community, or rather, a closer-knit community, compared to the rest of NYU, excluding Tisch.
