I got Accepted!
i was wondering if anyone who goes there could tell me anything about the school and any experiences you’ve had. basically your general feeling about the college.
I got accepted through the EOP program so any experience with students from this program would be nice. Also for the students with EOP what does your finical aid look like about how much did you have to take out in loans or pay.

As an EOP student you will probably do a summer program to acclimate you for college. This is great because you will have the change to meet and be friends with other EOP kids so you really have a jump-start on your social life. The financial stuff I can’t help you with unfortunately.
SBU is an OK school. It is very strong in the sciences and engineering. Lots of pre-meds. Buisness is OK. Liberal arts are there if you want them. A lot of international students and commuters but you’ll have your EOP friends so fitting in won’t be that much of a factor. There are a good number of clubs to join on campus. Greek life is not really big but there is other stuff. The campus is ugly. Can’t really do much about that. A lot of people leave on the weekends but some people stay. If you want to go to new york there is a train right on campus. It takes like an hour and a half to get to penn and you’ll probably have to change at hicksville or jamaica but it can be fun to take a day trip.
