I wasn’t able to see the gym when I went down there for Open House in April.

After reading the gym rules I’m afraid of being harassed by staff.

Does anybody know if there is a barbell squat cage, bumper plates, or Olympic lifting platforms?

I can not answer your specific question at the end of your post.

But I toured the facility during open house. My thought was that the entire facility was ridiculously amazing, better than any facility I have ever seen. Check it out here: [Recreation Center](Recreation Center - ASI Cal Poly)

Hopefully, someone else can chime in as to those specific items.

the gym at cal poly is the most amazing I have ever seen in my entire life! i go to cal poly and every cent i pay for it is worth it! trust me, you will be amazed when you see it!

+1. I need a squat cage.

Contact the Rec Center and contact the football department. Cal Poly has a pretty strong team and I’ve never seen a serious football team without access to a squat cage. If they do not have it in the Rec Center, I am sure they have one somewhere on campus.

@zinrokh: The gym is separate from the Rec Center. There very well be something like that in the Mott Gym for p.e. classes and sports teams. Or there could also be one at the Rec Center. As OsakaDad said, you can contact both places.

The gym is incredible, they even have hand scanners that verify your identity at the entrance. Beach volleyball courts, whirlpool, leisure pool, olympic size pool, huge gyms and weight rooms, raquetball…etc do you get the point? It’s awesome.

I’m pretty sure it was ranked as the best public rec center on the west coast (or something along those lines)
