Hey guys I hate to upset anyone but UCI sent a survey to incoming freshman class about living in apartments vs. living in dorms for the fall because of increasing choice of UCI as people’s number one school. So like people are going to have to living in on campus housing?
does that mean that UCI is full from SIRs??
I honestly don’t know but that is just what the email said, a friend of mine sent me a pic of it.
I am praying that this isn’t as bad as it sounds! I REALLY want to get off the Wait list
@pup606 I hope so too
@pup606 isn’t that just the housing survey? for students to rank their preferences in terms of where they want to live
@lollicupcatxx “increasing choice of uci as their school” -increased SIR’s
sighhhh this is really bad news then
@lollicupcatxx who knows though
Didn’t someone say that the budget was approved so 20% more funding
20% is a lot
@waitlisted1234 idk, but if their dorms are already limited, adding more students wouldn’t be a good idea.
Does anyone know exactly what the letter said?

they wouldn’t lie to mssun
She’s like THE counselor
Mrs sun said:My interpretation for what I’m hearing from the campuses that won’t know until mid-May is that they are waiting to see how the students move around after the other UCs pull students off the waitlist. I can’t tell if the campuses are coordinating efforts (not coordinating to decide which campus will take which student but coordinating how quickly the waitlist decisions are released); BUT if they are, I would assume that Berkeley, UCLA, and San Diego should release waitlist decisions earlier so the other UCs can adjust their SIR numbers accordingly.
I think we should stay positive because every school says they’re the best school and that they’re becoming more people’s number 1 choice, so I don’t think its that big of a deal because I’ve seen that a million times. Also it’s my experience that through my admission process mrs sun has been wrong a lot, and she will be wrong again. So I really think we should stay positive, I still think we have a really good chance.
@mainecoons14 hahhaa well I hope you’re right
So nervous
I think that we’ll find out after may 8 though or even later
After some people from other UC’s are accepted or rejected off the waitlist
I’m so nervous tbh!
@coolforschool same lol.
I feel like this year is much different than all the years. If we applied last year or even next year, we wouldn’t be dealing with this. We are caught in the middle of the budget crisis. And the problem is, that we can’t help it.
@coolforschool
Honestly, I think you’re right.
We were just unlucky
But I’m always unlucky so…
