How likely is it I get accepted into the College of LSA

Hello, I am new this whole website so forgive me if I am doing any of this wrong however I could really use some advice.

I am finishing community college in California with a degree in Political Science and am looking to transfer to the University of Michigan or I believe college of LSA to pursue Biopsychology. I want to go here because I have heard the program is amazing and I have been wanting to leave state for some time now, so it feels like a really good fit for me.

I guess what I am wanting to ask is, do I realistically have a shot at even being considered or will I most likely get laughed at? My GPA is extremely average sitting at a 2.94, (and going up) (probably not by much though) (idk how to calculate it) I have taken some psychology classes that I have done well in however only one will transfer which is fine I just feel I have nothing to show for.

I know this is what I want to do and I have a lot of heart, so many ideas of things I want to pursue in this field most of them coming from my own life experiences and passion to work with children and I am more than likely going to apply even if everyone on here tells me I’m dreaming, just wondering how low my hopes should be. Thanks!

A couple of points:

The financial aid package awarded by a college is usually more limited both for transfer students in general and out-of-state transfers in particular, so research any school under consideration as to how you would pay for the two years (or more, if required courses are impacted and you need at least part of a third year to graduate).

The best, most reliable way for your ideas to someday become a reality is to attend a school where you can do well academically. “Amazing” programs are typically populated with amazingly good students being given amazingly hard assignments. If that simply doesn’t happen to be who you are (i.e. a solid hard-working student, but not superior), then you should expand your search to other programs which might in the end serve you just as well or better. U of M is huge, with classes which reflect that. What about a smaller college with good prof-student interaction in your area of interest, where you could develop relationships with the faculty and eventually become involved with research of theirs which aligns with your goals?
