<p>I want to get an accurate idea of how long it took for you to write something similar to the following:</p>
<p>200-400 word supplement for safety school
long essay for your reaches/matches
200-400 why ___/ supplement for one of your reaches/matches</p>
<p>Any input is appreciated!</p>
<p>I might be pretty different from the majority of essay-writers, but I usually spend about an hour writing the essay and maybe 30 minutes total editing it. I much more time thinking about it though, and I tend to have a pretty solid map of what I’m going to say before I start.</p>
<p>About 2 weeks of thinking about ideas/worrying/procrastinating for my long essays, and then 2 hours of writing and a few hours of editing.</p>
<p>For common app main essay
100+ hours freaking out about it
3 hours brainstorming - and no this does not happen all at once. It’s a period of days/a week in the shower, before going to bed etc
5 hours getting some words out
2 hours editing - after a much needed sleep and hot chocolate.
10 min editing - at different point
3 hours editing/rewriting bits - at later point
10 min editing reading it out loud
2 hours editing/fixing
10 min editing reading out loud
10 min editing reading out loud
Freak out some more/show parent/english teacher</p>
