I submitted my FAFSA back in January 17 2014. I was wondering how long it would take for me to find out if I was selected to be verified? also, is it each school individually that verifies me or is it FAFSA themselves that notify me? Also another very important question, say a private school has asked me to submit my parents taxes, If i fail to provide them with what that will that affect my financial aid for Other schools? I know it will jeopardize my aid for that specific school (Franklin and Marshall) but will it affect my aid for the other schools that I applied for that didn't ask for my parents taxes

Not everyone is verified, so you may not have been selected. If a school is going to verify you, they will ask for documents. They may communicate with you via your student email or the student portal, if they have given such access to applicants. You will need to watch for any communications. (It is the school, not FAFSA, that notifies you.)

If one school asks for info but you don’t give it to them (let’s say you decided you won’t be going there), it doesn’t affect anything at any other school.

Kelsmom, OK thank you very much for the information, I really appreciate it

I received notification that I was selected for verification by two schools within a week of filing, so I would guess that you won’t be if you haven’t been contacted yet.

There will be an asterisk next to your EFC on the SAR if you were selected by FAFSA.
