how long for schools to receive GRE scores?

help! I have a bunch of Dec 1 deadline schools and I haven't requested my GRE scores to be sent in by ETS. The additional score reports says that it will take 5 days to process, and to allow 7-10 days for mailing???

Is this serious? So it will take 12-15 business days for a school to receive my official scores?? Or is it 7-10 days from when i requested it?

Is this really bad for schools? Will they care a lot if my official scores come in after the deadline, or is it not really a big deal? Please advise!

Some schools get their scores electronically, so maybe you’ll be lucky. Send them NOW, though.

I know that some programs with December 1 deadlines recommend taking the GREs no later than October for this very reason.

yes, I took my GRE in october, but I don’t think I listed all the schools with Dec 1 deadlines to have the score submitted and I’m just realizing this now. When it says 7-10 days to mail is that for real? Or is it like it takes 5 days to process, and then it will mail it after the 5th day and however long USPS takes to deliver it to the school that is how long it will take?

Does anyone have any experience with how long it took to send scores from the East to the West coast? Will the school (say, Stanford) really care if the official score arrives a day or two later than the official application deadline?

You should ask them to be sure. In my case, UC Berkeley, UMich, etc. do accept GRE after the deadline, but not too late though. What they want is for you to self-report the score in the application form and then the official score can be late.
