its about a 5-7 min T ride. Beware that the T shuts down at 1230! And yes there is a BC stop on the B line of the T.

5-7 mins to get into downtown?? No no no.

To cross the town line from Allston/Brighton into Boston proper is going to be about 20 mins. Into downtown areas like Copley Square, the Theatre District, Prudential Center, etc is more like 30 - 45. The T stop right outside campus makes it VERY easy, and I'm pretty surprised students don't go in more often.

And yes, the T does shut down at 12:30. Highly inconvenient, but there are hundreds of cabs around BC on the weekends.

20 minutes. I agree.

how often do students go into boston?

It depends on which trains you use, but it at least 15 minutes or more. The D line is the fastest and it takes maybe 15-20 minutes to get "into" Boston, meaning the periphery. To get to downtown is about 25-30 minutes. You can also take the 86 bus to Harvard Square, always a lively place for college students. That's usually about 15-25 minutes depending on traffics.
