I know this has already been posted before but I thought since people heard EA they could give us some insights on how long was acceptable whether it be by page (single or double) or word count. Thanks alot

EC essay:
General essay:
School specific essay:

Your school-specific may be shorter or longer depending on the school to which you are applying. For example, SFS (discuss an international issue) will be, by nature, longer than the one for the College (relate studying at G'town to your goals). I applied to the College, so mine will likely be one of the shorter school-specific ones listed.

Even though the application says about one page for the general/school essay. How did you guys manage to fit it on one page or did you have two pages? What was the spacing?

I had a page and a half, double spaced for the school essay. I have double spaced everything for all of my applications. Doing so makes everything so much easier to read.

EC essay: 205 words, adapted from a 1030 word essay
general: 574
school: 792 words, adapted (added on a paragraph about Georgetown) from a 657 word essay about my prospective major

For those of you who are applying to the college, what are you saying that makes your essays so long?!? I consider myself undecided about my major, not to mention my long-term goals, and I can’t fluff that up forever! Lol, oh well.

other two were over 1,000 (a little over a page on word, single spaced)
…i hope they don’t care too much about length.
oh and applied to SFS. keepings my fingers crossed!
