How long were your Georgetown essays?

I know this has already been posted before but I thought since people heard EA they could give us some insights on how long was acceptable whether it be by page (single or double) or word count. Thanks alot

EC essay:
General essay:
School specific essay:

EC essay: 334 wds.
General essay: 714 wds.
School-specific essay: 383 wds.

The first two (EC and general) were probably on the long side, but I was accepted with those lengths.

EC Essay: 265 words
General Essay: 648 words
School-specific: 558 words

Try not to go too far beyond 2 double-spaced pages for the General and School-specific essays.

EC Essay: don't remember/don't know what I saved it as on my computer haha
General Essay: 614
School-specific: 544

Your school-specific may be shorter or longer depending on the school to which you are applying. For example, SFS (discuss an international issue) will be, by nature, longer than the one for the College (relate studying at G'town to your goals). I applied to the College, so mine will likely be one of the shorter school-specific ones listed.

EC: 499 (I didn't realize how long this was!)
General: 688
School-specific: 682

I got in.

Oh and I applied to the college, too

accepted

EC essay: 300ish
General essay:600
School specific essay: about 3/4 page single spaced

What is this EC essay? I only wrote two...

extracurricular essay

ec: 388
general: 820 (ouch i just realized how long it was)
school (sfs): 720

i got in.

ec: 150
general: 450 something
school: 600 or so

accepted

Even though the application says about one page for the general/school essay. How did you guys manage to fit it on one page or did you have two pages? What was the spacing?

I had a page and a half, double spaced for the school essay. I have double spaced everything for all of my applications. Doing so makes everything so much easier to read.

do you think it will hurt my chances if my essays are shorter but concise?
EC: 200
general: 300
school: 400

or should I make them longer??

make them longer!

especially the general essay… remember that they want to get to know you

EC essay: 205 words, adapted from a 1030 word essay
general: 574
school: 792 words, adapted (added on a paragraph about Georgetown) from a 657 word essay about my prospective major

For those of you who are applying to the college, what are you saying that makes your essays so long?!? I consider myself undecided about my major, not to mention my long-term goals, and I can’t fluff that up forever! Lol, oh well.

EC: 150

other two were over 1,000 (a little over a page on word, single spaced)
…i hope they don’t care too much about length.
oh and applied to SFS. keepings my fingers crossed!
