How many colleges did YOU apply to?

I applied to, not counting my state schools....thirteen. Yes, thirteen. And the "worst" one (according to USNews) was Rice, which is ranked at #17..... :P All of these schools seem amazing, and I would love to go to any one of them.

I just hope I can get into at least one.....

Nine. All very nice schools.

@OrchDork1 For thirteen schools, I think it’s risky to make them all reach schools, unless your application really is that good. You should set yourself some safeties as well. Just a thought.

yeah I gotcha. I’ve already been accepted to my state flagship, which is arguably one of the top public universities in the US

12 schools total. I can see myself at all of them (except maybe one, lol).

1  Stanford early

Five in-state schools.

13 Schools, but 6 of them are UC schools

14, but 7 are UC’s.

@Doener no one likes a bragger…

jkjk congrats! :D

3 schools all EA/ED.
Rejected from my ED school but got into the other 2. Will be attending UMich next fall (already paid deposit).

2 could be called safeties…and 1 (my top choice) is probably a match. I’ve been very particular and picky throughout the whole process, and I didn’t apply anywhere I knew I wouldn’t be happy going. On the other hand I wish I had applied to another place or even a couple more, but they’d have to have been really good too (for me, that is), and frankly they just didn’t seem to exist.

orch:

With acceptance rates at the top schools so low, I think you were wise to apply to that many.

If you don’t apply, you have rejected yourself.

5.
Georgia Tech, Michigan at Ann Arbor, UC Berkeley, Stanford, and Franklin Olin College of Engineering.

8.
3 Safe (Michigan Dearborn, Michigan State, St. Mary’s at ND)
2 Match (Michigan Ann Arbor, U of Rochester)
3 Reach (Notre Dame, Vandy, U of Chicago)

2 safeties- Eckerd College, University of Tampa (accepted to both)
2 matches- Vassar College, Wesleyan University
3 dream- Yale, Brown, & Duke
7 total

Definitely said no to applying to Penn State (my state school) especially in the wake of the scandal.

I applied to 4 UCs, 4 Cal States, and 1 private (through a scholarship program).

I was going to apply to 8 more private schools, but since I won the scholarship I didn’t need to (:

1 safety=Michigan State
1 match=University of Michigan
^accepted to both :)

3 reaches=Barnard, Middlebury, Brown

23 schools

We’re averaging 8 and 2/3 schools per poster.
Just so you know.
