Some of my friends have jobs, and it is kinda the stereotypical thing for shows dealing with high school teenagers. So how many of you actually fit this stereotype and have a job? And how did you get one (other than just applying). I really need to get one this summer.

I have 2 jobs.

I got 1 through the help of my band director.
And the other is my favorite yogurt place that just so happened to be hiring.

I have two jobs too.
One of them was a local place that I heard needed somebody.
My other one I actually found on craigslist, its part of a restaurant chain.

Closest thing I had to a job was working over the summer teaching little kids basics in engineering and programming.

I desperately need a job.

A couple of my friends have jobs. I don’t. And I really should get one. It’s been making me feel guilty lately.

But honestly, I’m a really weird person and it just seems odd to me to fill out a ton of applications and then turn them in to a bunch of different places. And then I hate at grocery stores how you actually have to fill out the application in the store. It just seems embarrassing. haha.

But I need to get over that and get a job.

I’ve a summer job four years in a row. All I did was take the required classes and apply.

Nearly all my friends have a job. I should probably get one somewhere for the summer. Two summers ago I worked as a receptionist and data entry person, and I never intend on doing that again, haha. I’ll be teaching at a music camp this summer, but it’s a mission trip thing so no paycheck… I can’t get an actual job in that cause nobody’s going to hire a high school student to teach music to 5-14 year olds, even though I’m well qualified.

Otherwise I’m picky, so music and clothing stores are it. Unfortunately, the local Betsey Johnson store closed awhile ago and that was my favorite. I was going to apply to work in the media part of Barnes & Noble but everyone there knows my ex and they’re slowly replacing their CD section with Blu-ray and DVDs. The only real music store I know of is all the way downtown and half my co-workers would be body mod stoners. -.-; I suppose I could settle for working with the body mod hipsters at Urban Outfitters. Yeah, I’ll ask if they’re hiring. Best of luck to you all who are looking for a job!

I don’t work and I know very few people who do. However, I have a job interview at a local Dairy Queen tomorrow, so I hope that turns into a job.

The Nursery attendant’s assistant at my Mom’s church skipped work one too many times, and since my Mom is the Director of Children’s Ministries there, she offered me the job. I have a Red Cross certificate in Babysitting, CPR, and First Aid. I’m good with kids and have been a babysitter before.

So now I go play with kids for two hours every Sunday for $20. Oh, and I’m a guy.

I am working this weekend as a soccer referee… I’ll get paid $150 for 5 hours of work… not bad :-). This is the job I plan on having in college.
