I would pick the top ivies that I really want to attend and update them with your latest grades and achievements. Also have your guidance counselor call in for you to let them know how great you are. Maybe a couple of additional recommendation would help also.

Also look into the stats on those colleges that have accepted from the waitlist over the past couple of years. Don’t waste your time with the schools who never go to their waitlist.

What schools did you get into? You said bulk of your ivies … so you must have gotten in a couple?

Waitlisted for bulk & rejected for others = my condition atm

Most productive (and only) thing I did yesterday after results = bawl

Woke up this morning with the acceptance that if I don’t get off the waitlist for any of my other schools, I’ll be Ithaca-bound.

Advice: Things aren’t so gloom (still painful & dark, but lightly better) after the acceptance stage. If you really want a certain college, there’s always the transfer option (I myself am not really the type to make transfers once the school term starts, but I know people who have transferred and are very happy in their new schools). Undergraduate school isn’t really all that important compared to graduate school. Just work hard for the next 4 years and get into the graduate school of your dreams.

out of curiosity, how does a waitlist letter look like? hahaha.

I agree about the graduate school thing, but right now it just feels like all the hard work I put in the last four years has been a waste

No, I didn’t get into any. I applied to 6, waitlisted at 4, rejected from 2

I’ll be going to georgetown or williams

Williams is amazing so I would not be upset about not getting into any ivies because it ranks right up there with them

Stupefy,
Williams and Georgetown are both AMAZING schools, different from each other, so you’ll have to think about what school size and setting most appeals to you, but once you get over feeling bad about waitlists (which is nothing to feel bad about), hopefully you can move on to celebrating your incredible accomplishment. My best friend (who just got rejected from G’town) would have given anything to go there. By no means should ou consider acceptances at G’town and Williams mean that all your hard work over the last 4 years has been a waste. On the contrary, your hard work impressed two of the most highly selective, outstanding universities in the US. Congratulations, I say!
And looseleaf, Ithaca-bound is also fantastic…

^Thank you for the well-written, optimistic, encouraging post :)
