How many SAT-II scores can you submit?

Hi, this is my first post =)

I'm been wondering is there a certain number of subject tests you can submit? I took Chinese(800) and I just signed up to take Biology in June. I also plan to take US history, French, and Math 2C. If I score over 740+ on the others, I probably would like to submit all five.

I know for UCs, you submit 2 and for some privates-3. Is this just the minimum requirement or is it the standard.

Thanks~~ This confused me for a while.

Most likely minimum. UCs just take the highest two of all your SAT II scores (though they are getting rid of SAT IIs as a requirement in 2012, I believe).

You can submit all 5. If you take more than 6, I believe only the most recent 6 are reported.

The Common Application has space to self-report six SAT Subject Test scores (and also six sittings of the SAT Reasoning Test).

Most colleges that require IIs require two, Harvard, Princeton and Georgetown require three. There is no particular rule against submitting more. For many, they take the highest two (or three when three required) when considering admission. As to getting an “edge” by submitting more than the number required, that usually does not occur, meaning you won’t be considered a “better” candidate for submiting more than the ones required.

^ I generally concur with drusba but there are some exceptions. Homeschooled applicants, for example, often use additional SAT IIs to provide “objective” verification of the strength of their HS curriculum, and some colleges ask homeschoolers to supply more than the usual number of SAT II scores. Similarly, students who attend small high schools that don’t offer AP classes might want to submit additional SAT II scores to demonstrate academic achievement. Colleges that review applications “holistically” will take these into account in rounding out their picture of an applicant for whom they otherwise might have inadequate information.

I actually think there is a limit. For UCs, its two or three. They have to put a limit, or everyone would be submitting as many scores as possible to be a little better than someone else. Even if you submit more than needed, they will only look at 2 or 3.
