6
2 reaches
3 target
1 safety

11

2 safety
1 match
8 reach

I always wonder about these "match" and "reach" designations... I'm scared to call ANY college a "match" or "safety" at this point. Well except for UC Davis, which is guaranteed for ELC students. :)

I was already accepted into Yale SCEA. Had I not been, I'd be applying to a range of schools (I'm not that risky, hehe).

Dude if you were accepted Yale SCEA, how are any schools "reaches" for you. -_-

haha uhhh HYPSM are reaches for everyone :)

Well not for those who already got into one! that's all i'm saying :)

8:
1 low reach-and my number one...sob
3 matches
1 low match
3 safeties

15, my mom says that in the long run, the money's worth it

7 reaches (it's throwing darts), 6 targets, 2 safeties (1 I'm already into)

Will I get 10 rejections come April? Probably. But hey, all I need is one acceptance!!

I applied to 2

Bowdoin ED (Accepted)

and I applied to Tulane in like October because they said they would give me a response in less than 4 weeks, it was free and had no essay(accepted, honors college = $24,000 a year)

13 :)

1 safety
1 match
11 reaches

High. numbers. wow.
I'm keeping the number at 4, and even with only four choices, I'm dreading having to make a decision in a two-week period at the end of April.

I love both of my high matches the most, but FA is going to play a big part in the decision.

2 High match/reaches (Accepted 1 EA, waiting for RD notification on the other)
2 low match/safeties (Accepted 1 with chance for amazing aid, waiting until after a visit to apply to the other)

14

2 safeties-already accepted
1 match-already accepted
11 other match to reach schools

8

2 Reach
4 Match (although one match is my top choice)
2 Safety

2
one safety-state school, full ride scholarship assured
one kinda safety/kinda match-Goucher but I really love the area and school so I would be heartbroken if I don't get in.

Also, can someone please explain why they are applying to so many? Is it because of FinAid or do you not know what school you want to go to? I mean in the most inoffensive way possible, just why do you need more than one safety?

5 reach
2 match
4 safety

lol, seriously why do u need more than 1 safety. or do you just have a different definition of safety than normal people do.

you'llsee:

Congratulations on Yale!!

ConnerChivone:

I applied to 12 schools, including 4 safeties. Why did I apply to four safeties? Uh... I guess I was kind of in an application frenzy? Two of the apps were free and took me ten minutes (I pretty much had to fill in my SSN, write a few sentences, and sign my name), and I figured I had nothing to lose. The other two were both schools I KNEW I'd get into, but if I had gotten into both and nothing else I wasn't sure which I'd choose (one is my state flagship, the other is the state school in a neighboring state, to which I would get in-state tuition).

As for the other 8 schools... I guess I was scared. A lot of my schools are reaches, and I'm sure I won't get into the majority of them. Also, FinAid is a huge part in my choosing a school, so the more options the better.

7 reaches, 4 matches, 4 safeties!! lucky number 15
not really, but I got into 2 matches and 2 safeties already (Umich, BC, UIUC, OU-BOOMER SOONER BABY!!)
