If this applies to you, was the change a drastic one (i.e. humanities-->natural science, vice versa)? Or did you simply modify your interest(s)?

Never, came in undecided, declared economics.

Once.

Computer Science → Business (and minoring in Computer Science)

Why?

I’m not good enough at the core skills of CS to be successful at it in the workforce. Just not my affinity. But it does come with incredibly useful knowledge regardless, which is why it’s still my minor.

My major has always been History AND…
-psychology
-theatre
-German
-French
-Classics
-Economics

…etc…

I may just pick up a minor when I get to my final destination:)

Once. I switched from Animal Science to East Asian Studies and Linguistics.

Never! Love my major.

4 times. Vocal performance to psychology to history to math education.

So far, never. I’m a computer science major, and depending on where I transfer next fall I might swap to double majoring in Comp Sci and Math, or if I’m super unlucky and none of the schools let me into my major I might be changing it to pure math, which I really really really hope doesn’t happen.

Uh, yeah. No changes yet, and not planning on changing.

Two!
Design Technology–>Mass Communication–>Art/Graphic Design

Never! Piano Performance & History all year (freshman).

Once, from chemical engineering to chemistry. Graduating this semester.

Interesting responses!

Don’t fear my fellow students, I’ve changed my major about twice! But I’ve contemplated on other majors for a really long time before finally committing.

Journalism —> Accounting/Economics

Some other areas I was seriously looking into:

Communication
Advertising/PR
Art History

Decided on English when I was like 16.

I never changed, though I might add another major at some point. I’ve known I wanted to do psychology for a very long time. I want to add a communication arts major though, because I’m taking a class for my gen ed requirements and I found out I really like it and am good at it.

Once. I went from a Bachelor of Music to Bachelor of Arts in Music. Best decision I made.

Started freshman year as an undecided science major. Declared bio about two months in.

Officially? Once. Chemistry to Biology.

In my head? More times than I can count. Chemistry → Biology → English → IR → Political Science → Clinical Lab Science etc.

Once. Went from Biology to Health Service Administration with a Psychology minor.

Like ‘ladeeda6’, I have changed it several times in my head, just never officially declared it. Thought about Business, Social Work, Forensic Science etc… My interests are never-ending.

Mentally? A bunch. I was ALWAYS going to do English but then I decided to double major in Spanish. Then economics. Then psychology. Then communication disorders. Then political science. And finally I just decided on communication. :D

Once.

Biology -> Biochemistry.

Thanks to my current Biology 2 professor, I’m not looking back.
