How many times did you take the ACT before you got the score you wanted?

Zero. Was satisfied with my first score.

If you took it zero times, how did you get your first score?

Haha I think the poster meant to assume that retakes were being counted. I took it about 3 times not including the first one. I only went up 4 composite points. Damn mathematics.

Yeah I thought the question was asking how many times you took the ACT before you took it and got scores you’re happy with. I took it a total of one time and got a 35, so there’s no need to take it again.

I retook the test 1 time. :)

I retook it for mandatory state testing, and my score went from a 30 to a 33. I will have to take it one more time to take the Writing section, as it was not available for the state test.

I took it four times. But it didn’t really bite me in the ass, and I’m happy with where I’m going.

It’s cool you’re all so confident with telling how many times you’ve retaken the test. I’m going to retake it soon, again, it will be my third time taking it. Wish me luck everyone!

Puggly123, congrats on the high score, that’s amazing! :D

SeekingUni, WOW! Incredible score! What was your strategy? Can you give me any tips?

First 4 attempts were nonchalant though…so really only 1.

I’ve posted strategies a handful of times… you might want to perform a search for posts by me in this ACT sub-forum to find more. Most of them say the same thing (or pretty close) to this: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/act-preparation/1146534-how-improve-act-5-points.html#post12626865
