This scholarship amount is $15,300-$20,000, renewable for four years. Just wonder how many were given per year, if not this year?

Wen,

I doubt we'll ever know! I asked a couple of Admissions people, last year, during Owl Days, and all I got were very friendly smiles for an answer. Passion plays a role in the selection process, I understand.

hey guys, how do we know how much we get for trustee? like... i have a fall 2009 column and a spring 2010 column both with the same amount, so do i like... add them up?

yes i believe so
otherwise it wouldn't add up to the 15k-20k range

wait... where did you learn that it is renewable? From the wording of the letter, it seems to me that it will only be for the 09-10 year... though that would only be good news!

The Financial Aid website from Rice explains that they are renewable:

The renewal gpa required is also VERY reasonable. If I remember correctly from my DD, you needed a 2.8 gpa to keep the award. Very doable!!!!!

More details will be in the letter you receive with your acceptance package. Review it carefully to understand the terms of the scholarship.

i received a trustee distinguished scholarship for $83,200 over 4 years. anyone else receive a figure like that?

trustee scholarship is 15k-20k per year according to the site so where did the 20800 per year come from?

thats what im tryin to figure out... the letter clearly stated 20,800 dollars a year through the trustee distinguished scholarship fund.

here is something interesting

^

haha me too :D (just the trustee)! 83k...... still trying to comprehend that sum...

83k over four years or two?

so no one knows how many trustees are handed out each year? and what's the difference between the two kinds of trustees? how do you tell which one you got? my letter just says "trustee" i think...

over 4 years.

on my financial aid letter online, there was a section for trustee fund (or something like that) and i just added that up.

the difference between the two trustee scholarships is explained here

i got notification of the trustee distinguished scholarship in the snail mail today ^-^
