How many years does this take

At a community college, how many years does it take to go through the required math courses (calc 1, calc 2, multivariable calc, elementary differential equations, and elementary linear algebra)

at least 4 semesters (2 years if 2 semesters per year). calc 1, calc 2, and MV are sequential and can't be taken at the same time. You could probably take MV concurrently with linear algebra and/or maybe diff. eq, depending on the college's requirements. I wouldn't want to be taking more than 2 math classes at a time though.

also depends on how many prereqs you need to take in order to to sign up for Calc etc..Don't you have to take a placement exam for math?

It all depends on what you start with. If you start in calc 1, it will likely take 4 semesters. However, many people go in starting with calc 2 or 3. On the other hand, many people in community colleges have to start with college algebra, then take trig, then pre-calc, which will obviously take you much longer. My advice though, is to take as many of your math classes as you can while at a CC, bc depending on where you transfer, the math classes can be MUCH harder to earn a good grade in at a university. Also note that that doesn't necessarily mean that a university is teaching you any more than a CC, many times it is just because of the curves at the university.

It depends.I'm going through the process now. It would probably take up to 6 semesters if you're taking prereqs. You would probably start off with Intermediate algebra.

You should be able to take diffeq and multivar at the same time.
