Hi so I want to apply to U of M but I want to get a 3.88 average GPA. I can get it up to a 3.7 but I will need ALL of senior year to get it to a 3.88. Do colleges see that? Can they decline my application before or… im confsued on how it works
thanks
Final decisions on acceptances are announced usually by March 31st so you do not have your entire senior year to get your grades up. If you apply regular decision, you can have your school submit first semester grades.
And if you decide to apply EA, deadline is November 1, then UM will give you their decision on or around 12/20. So, senior grades won’t matter at all unless you’re deferred to RD.
And 3.88 is only their average. Per the UM CDS for 2017-2018, 81% of the enrolled students had a 3.75 or higher.
Just keep working hard. No senioritis. Schools like Michigan want to see rigor in the senior year and good grades. Look at it as a preparation for college.
