Now, I know that many people enjoy studying because it “cultivates you” or will help you later in life, but I doubt that what I learn in my HS chemistry class will be useful 30 years down the road. So my situation is that I am American in an intl. school in Switzerland that does IB and got in EA. I am predicted a 43, and my Grade 11 report card/mid-year report card (grade 12) both show a 43 as my total grades. So I have 2 questions:
-
Will UChicago see my final real IB scores (released in late July)?
-
How much can my IB grades drop in order to avoid raising ANY bells (I’m not talking ANYWHERE near rescinded, I mean like a letter or getting put on a bad list or whatever)?
They will see your final grade. They will ask the school to send just to make sure you actually graduated. I would not worry about grades dropping a bit. Realistically that happens to a lot of seniors. No Ds, Fs or Felonies which could get you rescinded. Aside from that there is not much they can do. You start with a clean slate when you get there.
BTW - Congratulations!
don’t fail and you’ll prob be okay
i’m with you on chem
No D’s No F’s No Felonies.
Thanks for your replies all! Guess I’m fine then, which is cool because the exams are still 3 months away.
“They will ask the school to send just to make sure you actually graduated.”
Just to clarify, having the final transcript sent along is the student’s responsibility. These can be ordered around the time you graduate or shortly before. Most high schools send a list of “to do’s” to the senior class and this is typically included on that. You would use whatever method you employed to have transcripts sent during your applications, only this one would be the final transcript, showing that you graduated. If ordered in a timely fashion, schools will have these sent out sometime in June, which is plenty of time before the deadline.
