How much did you all improve from your ACT practice tests to the actual?

I am taking the September ACT. I will be a senior and unfortunately it will be my first test. I took a practice test, and to most standards it is not good. I am just glad I got a bit above average composite. (Unlike my SAT… which I got a 1470) 470 M 470 CR 530 W Essay 8

My ACT (from the red book)

25 E 24 M 27 R 20 S
Composite: 24
I ran out of time for science, and that is basically my only excuse. Of course I know I am not up there when it comes to smarts but I currently have a 3.75 UW and a 3.9 W GPA. I go to a school in Loudoun County VA so I don’t think our grades are inflated. But who knows?

Anyway now that you know a little bit about my situation, please tell me about yours.

What did you get on the practice tests vs real thing?
How did you prep?

And also how much do you think I can realistically improve using prep scholar (anyone have success stories with this online prep company?) and the red book. (I take the test in two months)

And last question, am I the only rising senior who has NO idea what college I would want to go to let alone what colleges I will apply to?

Thanks for reading :)))))

It’s about persistence and not just looking at the book then the answers. You can improve 3+ if you study correctly, often and seriously.

 I'm going into junior year, and I went from a 24 to a 32.

I'm not terribly familiar with PrepScholar; Although I've heard good things.

For me confidence was integral. The practice tests showed me that I could get in the 30s. My practice tests and real scores were about the same. When taking practice tests make sure you go over EVERY question you missed until you truly understand why you were wrong. If you can't figure it out, then search for similar concepts on the internet or ask a friend for help. Keep in mind that in practice tests especially your scores will fluctuate. The key is to not get discouraged.

Best regards

@Chew97083 How long did it take you to get from a 24 to a 32? That is very impressive.

I know someone who went from 21 to a 33. You just need to put time and effort into your practice. There are also books you can buy at barnes and noble or take a class. Ask what your friends have been doing! Good luck!

I am in the same situation as @leslieknope4 .
Any help is appreciated.

I am in a similar situation as you. I took my first SAT freshman year just to see where i am and i got a horrible 1200. My GPA is 3.9 unweighted and 4.5 weighted sophomore year and i still got 1400/1500 on my PSATs.However, through lots of practice it’s at a 1700 now but i’m still trying to get it above 2000.
