So right now I have two choices: SUNY Binghamton and SUNY Stony Brook. Both are pretty prestigious in their own regards, but there's still a few things to consider. As a major in Computer Science, Stony Brook definitely has better Computer Science program, and it shows in college ranks. Binghamton doesn't come close there. My parents are more concerned in that part. But there's also other stuff like campuses and stuff, and I like Binghamton's more. I plan to transfer after getting my Associate's Degree, and I hear that won't matter as much as Bachelor's/Master's, and I want the whole "college experience." Of course, there's the chance that I won't be able to transfer. So what should I do? Should I look more into academics or campus?

Well, it’s not like you are choosing between MIT and SUNY Stony Brook. Both of these schools are relatively similar academically and will provide you with similar opportunities. When two schools are at similar academic levels, you take a look at where you will be most happy and passionate…and you go there. lol

hey I am deciding between SUNY stony brook and SUNY bufffalo and im also majoring in computer science. my parents are the same way…the good thing about SUNY Stony brook is that it has a Computer science honors program and a lot of interesting computer science classes…but yeah I hear it has a crappy “college experience” but yeah w.e you feel is right for you…i doubt it will matter too much for an associates degree as long as you get good grades ull be able to transfer to a good college…thats just what i think though sooo…
