How much do colleges weigh your high school record when considering admission?

I will be a Community College student in the fall.
I'm looking to transfer to a University after two years at CC.
I would like to transfer as a Junior, because I'm assuming that in doing so, the college won't take my high school record into consideration too much. Could my bad high school record prevent me from being accepted into a good University?

After 2 years at CC, most colleges will just consider your college record, many will not even want to see your HS transcript. There are some that want to see everything, but they will put little if any weight on it compared to what you do in college.

That’s what I thought, thank you. I’m sure the more “selective” colleges will take my high school record into some consideration though.

Hi Elizabeth,

I’m also worried about this. I think if you complete a certain amount of credits at CC, they won’t consider your high school grades, though some schools still require to submit them. I hate how some schools I want to apply to like Syracuse and Boston University require transfers to submit SAT scores and HS transcripts.

Yes, that is why neither of my statements said that ALL schools will NOT consider your HS record at all:

Oh yeah, I see. If you had an outstanding high school record, I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt your chances, lol.
