I tutor this little Chinese girl in reading and writing. Her mother approached my mother and asked her if I was willing to tutor her, and she offered my mother to pay me $30 originally, but my mother said it was too much... they bargained for a bit, and they both agreed on $28 finally. Asian parents, I'm telling you.

Lol, I tutor too and get 15 dollars/hr, but my boss is getting 40 bucks an hour! I'm getting so ripped off.. I'm thinking of quitting but telling everyone who I tutor that I'll now be offering sessions for $35/hour and they can just pay it straight to me :] cus they'd think they were getting a discount lol.

Haha, I meant what I said. My mother felt like it was too much, so she bargained with the lady to lower the price. The lady said no, it was fine, my mother disagreed, and they then both settled on $28.

LOL moment - this thread was on the same page as the "How many watermelons do you have in your house?" thread, so when I skimmed down the page, I read them together as:
"How many watermelons do you make at your job?"

And just so this post isn't entirely useless, $1500 for the summer. I've got a good job (and I'm currently slacking off at it by writing this).

I tutor SAT Math, SAT Writing, and SAT-level vocab. I also help with any other subject a kid may be prepping for. 4 hours a week gets me $60--more than enough.
