Does anybody have any experience with rescinded admission? i.e. Admitted to a school midway through senior year, and then grades dive and the school takes back their offer of admission?
I know this is always threatened, but does anybody know of real circumstances when it happened?
My senior courses are as follows-
Bible: A
Honors Spanish: A
Honors Philosophy: B

College classes (these do not count in high school gpa):
Intro to Law: B
Calc I: C

I have never had anything but strait A's, college classes included. I listed my grades as worst case scenarios. Just wondering if any of these would possibly constitute grounds for rescinded admission.

B’s are fine. The C in Calc I could potentially be a problem, but only if it’s reported on your high school transcript or otherwise shown to your college in an official capacity.

Okay. There is a very good chance I will get a B in Calc and all A’s in the others. As I said, I just feel that this is pretty much worst case scenario. An A in Calc will not happen.

Still, I was interested to hear if anybody knew somebody who actually had an offer rescinded?

Contrary to the panicked advice most high schools give, colleges generally want to keep their early admits. The grades you listed don’t give them a reason to take away your acceptance.

A few years ago someone from my school got rescinded with one C (they were rescinded from an Ivy). But I’m also fairly certain they went from straight As to mostly Bs and that C.
