I have currently been accepted to 6 out of the 7 schools that i applied to ( nothing ivy or anything of that level) but how often do colleges rescind your admissions offer? I have difficult classes this year, and made a few mistakes in my scheduling. My school offers 8 classes, but between a open period a TA and a special project art class my GPA is only out of 5 classes. I am not struggling majorly in any classes besides Pre calc ( math is difficult for me). At the end of the semester i think i will have: A or A- in French 3, a B+ in AP lit, an A- in AP world, and C or C- in pre calc, and then an A in my one elective. Now i know these arent horrible grades, but it will be a drop in my GPA, my Current cumulative GPA is a 3.5 cause me any problems ( i think ill end with about a 3.2 or 3.3 this semester) How far would this have to drop to lose my college acceptances? Sorry if i sound paranoid, but after getting my first rejection letter yesterday, it has made me very worried.

Relax. You’re fine.

Also if i take a pass fail in Pre Calculus next semester will that look bad to colleges?

No, jesus, you won’t get rescinded. In my opinion that’s a god damn good GPA for a senior. And you clearly can’t really handle your current math course, so it makes sense for you to switch to a course that you can excel in. You won’t get rescinded, it won’t look bad, only reasonable.

Honestly, until you have something like three Cs, you don’t need to worry.

Thanks for the advice. I know that my GPA isnt very bad, what i was mainly worried about was the C- in pre calc because i have never gotten a grade that low before. I decided to take a pass fail in pre calc next semester.

I think that’s a good idea to take it pass-fail.

And you’re mostly an A/B student. The one C in a class that’s hard for you isn’t any indication of slacking off, which is what schools are worried about. It’s an indication that that one subject is hard for you, which is OK. Don’t worry; I’d be very surprised if you got rescinded.

I agree. Unless there is a major difference in your final transcript from your mid-year one, I don’t think there will be a problem. Keep up the good work

You should be alright. Just don’t get any D’s or F’s

Okay, thank you everyone that replied!
