yeah, well I always pull it together for the final grade except there have been several occasions where I have been .2 or .1 percent from an A. Schools only see our final semester grades and a GPA with no weighted classes, and rank from that uw gpa.

haha whoa wait, so all our grades (nine weeks/six weeks/exams) are going to show up on the princeton midyear report?
Or is it just normally however our school does it, because we normally just do semester grades.
I failed my calculus exam (so did the whole class) but I still got an A anyway.
Hopefully they won't think that's weird.

Wait I'm confused...so you send in the Princeton Mid Year Report (which asks for First Grading Period, Second Grading Period), and then you send in your transcript (which is the same as before but with last semester added)??

Or can you send in the Common App Mid Year Report even if you used the Princeton app?

I think you have to do the Princeton app. I just looked at it and I think that the 1st/2nd grading period might be for schools with trimesters? idk. thats weird.

how much weight do u think the mid yr report holds cuz i didn't do so hot this semester due to taking AP Physics C without a prerequisite (dumbest decision ever!)

yea im interested in that too because i have this crappy AP Bio. teacher and now im not doing that great this semester. by the way i rank 2/137 based on what my guidance counselor last told me. I am also a black female. i wanted to no if even though im not doing that great this semester and my SATs arent so hot compared to others, but my transcript is great, will those two previously mentioned factors hinder me greatly? the courses ive taken are mostly honors classes and my APs are:
AP US
AP Biology
AP English Lit.
AP Calculus AB
(my school only offers 5 AP classes which stinks compared to other people.....AP Spanish i couldnt take even though i wouldve loved to because of a course conflict)
i never wanted to ask because im afraid of the responses i would get after reading lots of other people's posts but im just curious....

the most important thing is that you've taken the most rigorious courseload available at your school. they wont hold you accountable for the fact that your school only has 5 APs. also, the combination of salutatorian and urm status definitly will help. what were your SAT's, if you dont mind me asking?

Princeton will be able to see how many AP classes your school offers based on your Seconday School Report. They surely won't hold it against you that your school doesn't offer 1397 APs. Also, your GC can explain in a note in the Mid Year Report why you couldn't take AP Spanish. Scheduling conflicts are a problem at a lot of schools, and Princeton won't hold that against you either.

I didn't do very well last semester in AP Calc BC, but there was a valid reason, so my counselor is going to include that information with the Mid Year Report. I didn't do THAT horribly (~83), but she said that it would be more effective if she tried to offer an explanation than if I did. Maybe ask your counselor to help you out with that.

ooohhh ok thats good to know.thank you.yea ill have to ask my guidance counselor for a note then.but we all sent our apps already. i can still send one with my midyear rite? yea and umm my SATs hahaha.lol.u dont want to know trust me everyone on this forum has 700 even 800 on every section i definetly dont have that.lol.thats what i am really nervous about.lol.i have everything except SATs.i didnt have money to go to those $1,000 classes.lol.i practiced by myself.i didnt do like omg.400 or something but do the math.lol.not as stellar as everybody else.omg.waiting is nerve racking wow....april....lol..now im jealous of those ED people.haha.i just joined this forum yesterday and im excited to talk to u all!!!
