Giggidy33, your school re-works the rank after every semester? I wish our school did that. They only do it annually.

My school does it after every semester too...however, it takes like 6 weeks for them to do it. It's all computerized though, so I don't know why it takes that long.

At the end of last year, two girls from our grade moved back to Korea but still had to register for classes just in case they didn't end up going. Therefore, they weren't taken out of our class rank system, and they were number 3 and number like...19ish I think. Anyway, the counselors refused to re-work it before they mailed out transcripts, even though they knew that the girls obviously weren't enrolled for senior year and weren't coming back. So that was frustrating, because even though it's being only one spot higher, it's still...one spot higher.

Lookintodastarz - I applied to Princeton RD this year, and I'm from Texas. You're right--everybody on this forum is way-qualified, but you seem to have excellent qualifications yourself. Don't be intimidated. Everybody here is really nice...much nicer than in other forums!

awwwww j07. u are really sweet.u made me feel better because i am like omg no one is gonna wanna talk to me everyone here is soo intimidating.lol.thank you very much! yea i applied RD too.grrrr.waiting.....i think im the only one applying to Pton from my school.yea.lol.how about u? how many people applied from your school?

Yes, welcome, lookintodastarz!!! Like j07 said, we are definitely the nicest and most amazing forum! Go Princeton!! :)

I was really intimidated by this forum too at first. I just like...read everything, and then finally decided to awkwardly join in on the little ED family and now I love everyone here!

LookintodaStarz*, keep looking up to the stars and follow your dream. You have a great rank, have taken AP classes, and sound like a very good person. Depending upon what you get in Bio, you may want to have your counselor explain the grade in an email or letter to Princeton. Also, don't be afraid to post on this forum. I have posted on lots of forums, most are very kind in their responses but one in particular can get very curt/nasty. The Princeton forum is very helpful. Good luck!!!

yeah trust me, lookintodastarz, no one in this forum will be mean so feel free to post any questions! i'd like to say welcome too... and yay for princeton... and for the princeton forum!

ohhhh wow you all are absolutedly amazing.thank you soo much for welcoming me and for the great advice.lol.i feel like ive been welcomed into a family.lol.hopefully when april comes everyone of u will be happy!!!now im just waiting like the rest of you.lol.grrr.yea my APBio teacher is killin me as well as my physics teacher.my AP bio teach. requires us to tutor and go to lectures.like i dont mind but if we dont we r screwed and my whole class had a strike the other day.insane! and im afraid cuz all Pton sees are numbers but no explanations.lol.yea i have to have my guidance counselor send a little blurb.lol.have any of you got interview requests? because i sent my app on dec23rd and my friends who applied to yale already got interviewed and they applied the same time i did.lol.

My son just received an email from the local Princeton alumni club stating his interviewer's name and that if he didn't hear anything from the interviewer within a certain time frame, to contact her. He applied online on 1/1, but a lot probably has to do with the alumni club getting around to contacting you. Make sure you keep checking your emails.

ok thank you soo much! ill be checking my email then everyday!.lol.by the way, what part of the US do u reside in? just so i can get an approxiamation of how Pton alum club is working the interview calls.lol.

I applied on Dec. 28 and haven't heard anything yet. Welcome to the forum.

I haven't heard anything either. Of the 5 places I've applied that offer interviews, I've only heard from one.

We are in NJ, the good old Garden State.

i hopr i'll be in NJ this time next year, too! :P

welcome lookintodastarz*.

yeah, the forum was intimidating at first for me too but the people are really nice. and all the threads go off on a tangent after about 10 posts. :P

my SAT scores weren't stellar either, but then they'll take into consideration that i'm an international student. sighs with relief anyway, don't let the waiting kill you! :P

ohhh ok lenni!!!u are soo nice. it feels good that others felt the same way as i do.lol.yea waiting is driving me nuts.lol.ohh yea!!! finally a buddy with not so stellar SATs.lol. dont get me wrong u are most likely highly intelligent like everyonelse on this forum.crazy SATs.its soo weird how our lives come down to just one exam.jeezz.lol.ooooo dats true u are international.u have a great pro rite there.!!!.lol.one of mines is dat i am a minority.lol.so did u apply ED or RD?lol.

i applied RD. (i'm a minority too so hopefully this is all tilting in my favour :P) but i wouldn't be happy if they admitted me just because of where i'm from and not because i worked to get here. :P

anyways, the crazy SATs aren't the only thing they base their decisions on. they also look at how well you did on your high school transcript and a bunch of other things (ECs, recs, work experience, essays etc) just relax... april is a long way away...

April is TOO long away.
Did we ever "decide" if they were releasing decisions on March 29th like Harvard and Yale? Because at least March 29th sounds MARGINALLY closer than April (well, maybe because it IS marginally closer...)

Seriously though. April? I am really not a very patient person. I know everybody feels the same thing but wow, I am so glad that I have CC to distract me.

yeah, but CC makes me think of college and hence, how long till decisions come out. :P

thank goodness for tv :D

We have had two snowdays (uhh, without actual snow) and I am going crazy and if it weren't for CC I would have died by now.

I live in central Texas! And we have SNOW days? For the past 3 days, actually, except Monday didn't count because it was MLK Day. But still, I haven't been out of my house since Sunday morning and I owe it to CC for preserving my sanity (partially) and my life.

In the Houston area, all the school districts were closed because there's icy rain over here and there's like 983453 accidents on the highways.
Well all the school districts, except MINE.
But I come home at 9:30 every other day anyway.
