How much does rank really matter?

my school starts so late! 9, but 9:40 on mondays! i kind of wish it started earlier so i'd get home earlier, but then again i don't think i'd be able to tolerate waking up so early. 7:30 would be impossible!

oh wow i just read about the 10am school. that's kind of amazing, but do they get out really late?

My school starts at 9, but because I have first-period swimming (and we swim from about 6-9), I don't get to school until ten. And then we have eight classes (well, one is lunch), and then after that I do debate and everything else, thus my staying at school until 6:45-7 on a normal school day.

wow, I wish my school was better. It starts at 7:45, ends at 2:30, has no block classes, only six hours and basically sucks. I wish my school would let sports be part of school. Back when I swam, I had to get up at 4:45 for AM practice and I would get home 6ish after PM practice.

my school has the almost the same exact schedule as btlesgirl...except we have 3 more minutes of school =/ haha
over the course of 4 years....that's 36 more hours! haha. our lunch is also only half a period long =/ ugh.

@j07
wow, I thought I was a rarity to stay afterschool until 6pm every day....I'm the only person who does that every day of the week, except theatre kids when they put on the musical. Every day there are different kids staying after with me. haha...

Haha yeah, the janitors like...know that I'll be there until...forever. I once stayed at school until 12:45 two days before a huge debate tournament. My parents kept calling me expecting to hear like police sirens and/or loud music and/or "HEY, DO A KEGSTAND!" in the background and I was like nope, sorry, I'm...actually...at...debate.

haha, my parents would expect the same if i stayed at "school" until midnight. :P
i only stay after school to hang out with friends, otherwise i have piano lessons and basketball practice.

the school that starts at 10 actually ends at like 1.45 or something. :P i don't see why they bother... but then again, their school starts at a different time each day of the week. and the times change every semester. dude, i want to go to a finnish school!

My lord... you guys have it so awesome.

My school starts at 7 and I work til 8-9 pm 3 days a week (on wed. I have church which gets me home at 8:30). Blah.. I just keep telling myself that this schedule (w/ 9 classes this semester) will help with time management when I get to college...

But I am truly jealous of ya'll with those 90 minute class periods.. I've always believed 50 minute periods just aren't long enough.

90 mins for ONE class? how do you not die of boredom?! in my school each class is 45 mins and we have 5 minute breaks in between the classes. the only time we have 90 mins is during the weekly double lesson of which ever class...

exactly!!!! like i cant even imagine having 45 minute classes!.lol.i laugh at my friends im like hahaha.lol.cuz they dont have time for anything.soemtimes they even have ap classes on da weekend cuz there isnt anytime.lol.im like go block schedule!!! hahaha lenni it isnt dat bad trust me!!!.lol. it acutally goes fast. we only have four classes a day!!!.lol.

10-1:45. wow. that is my kind of school.

9 classes for semester is intense. you'll love it next year when you have 4-5 :D

I could not STAND to be in a class for 90 minutes. I would go absolutely insane. My classes are 50 minutes long too, but given the fact that the first 5 minutes are wasted socialiazing and the last 10 minutes are wasted...socializing, and the middle 10-15 minutes are spent on a random tangential political debate/ethical discussion/re-cap of Grey's Anatomy (we only do that in AP Calc though ;)), I probably spend...a good 15 minutes learning something in each class everyday.

And it still somehow manages to be difficult.

My school starts at 8 AM, ends at 3 PM; 50-minute classes, 20 minutes for lunch. It's exhausting.

In other words, I envy quite a few of you. :D

School starts: 8:00 am
School Ends: 4-5 pm

Not as bad as it sounds actually. Classes till about 1:30, Extra Classes/other preparatory stuff till 3:00. Each class's about 40 minutes. That gets a bit terrible though, when we've got double classes in succession...

20 minute lunch, Noldo? how long is your morning break, then? our morning break is 20 mins and our lunch is one hour.

How would you like to have lunch at 10:30 AM?

damn...that's harsh! :o
i'm kinda glad i'm at my school now! :P

Yeah we go 7-2pm with a 30 minute lunch (what's with the morning breaks? Do ya'll just get to sit around and take a nap? That'd rock!) It's nice because I'd rather start early than end late, but I'd rather start late and end early, but of course that's not an option :).

nah morning break is for hanging around with friends and going to the grenier (cafeteria, i guess) to get some foood (mostly chocolate :D).

i could never wake up early enough to be at school by 7...

For the past three years, our swim practices started at 5:15, so that was usually around a 4:57 (we had it down to a science) wake-up call with the return home still scheduled around 6:30 or 7 PM.

Finally this year our practices start a little later!
Some of my friends who swim club, though, wake up at 4 to swim, go to schol, and then swim from 5-8:30 every night. Then again, most of them have (or almost have) Olympic Trials cuts, so I guess it's worth it.
