I got a 2040: CR: 770, W: 710, M: 560. I am retaking in October.
I would love to get a 2200. But is this unrealistic? If so, what do you think is a realistic "goal" score?

thanks in advance!

I wouldn’t be surprised if you got a
800 CR
800 W (I improved 150 pts)
700 M (Easiest to improve on)

optimistically of course :p

VERY optimistically
but that would be amazing…

do you have any recommendations for a math book to use to improve my score?

I honestly have no idea… sorry… I’ve always had a thing for math. i’ve taken two SAT’s and the PSAT and all together I’ve only missed one :p

Did you study for your first testing? If you didn’t, I think you could aim for 2250 or even 2300 (difficult, but can’t hurt to try). If you did study, it’s going to be harder to make further improvements.

If that was your first attempt, it’s very possible. My first was 2080, I’m now sitting at 2360 superscored.

Math is by far the easiest section to improve upon with good review. You could reach 750+ if you practice enough. Get the Collegeboard Blue Book. They have 8 practice tests in the back. The book doesn’t explain the answers to these tests but you can find explanations for all the math problems at [Khan Academy](<a href=“Khan Academy”>Khan Academy)

Get Gruber’s for math. You could get a 2400 is you study enough, imo

thanks guys!
yes, i did study for the SAT the first time I took it, and that was the only time I’ve taken it so far.

honestly, its very do-able.

ive seen people go up by A LOT more than 160 points. From random variation alone (a.k.a. if you don’t study any more at all) could realistically account for about a third to almost half of those 160.

How much do you think I can realistically improve my score by October/December?

M: 740
W: 640 (although I was scoring 700s in practice tests)
CR: 620
Total: 2000

Mainly practicing CR and W this summer as all of my Math mistakes were just silly mistakes.
