I'm OOS, so I don't get TOPS, but I'm hoping to go to LSU if I get the price down low enough.

29 ACT, 630/1830 SAT
3.3 GPA, 3.8 weighted (although I've heard that doesn't matter at LSU...?)
Strong ECs (Captain of two sports and President of Latin Club being the main ones)
Rigorous coursework (13 total APs)

i doubt I can get my SAT score up much, but do you think it's worth it for me to take the ACT once more? I've only taken it once, so I figure I could probably bring it up to a 30.

LSU has automatic scholarships for various test scores and GPAs. Look on their web site or ask them. (Hint: an ACT score of 30 gets you twice the money as a 29.)

Thanks for the ACT tip! I took it the first time cold turkey, so hopefully with a bit of studying I can raise it to a 30.

Would you think I could get into the Honors program? I meet all the requirements, but I don’t know if that means automatic admission. I’m also a little worried about my GPA… I’ve heard rumors that LSU doesn’t really take notice of the rigor of schedules, which is what I’m relying on to explain my lower GPA.

I think they do. We attended an event a few years ago and they stressed that they “recalculate” your gpa. I think the purpose of the recalculating was to take rigor into account. Good luck!
