To the people who live outside the campus.
How much do you guys pay for electricity, water, and maybe internet access per month in average?

So many of the apartments are all inclusive and include these. There may be a cap on power though. Sorry I couldn’t help.

^^Thank you for your input. It’s good to know that utilities are inclusive in many apartments.

my experience is not that utilities are inclusive at most places. some apartments give their residents allotments, but you pay if you go above some cap.

internet is usually included though–especially at the more cohesive development type apartments. my utilities average about 40-50 when its hot, and 20-30 when its not. energy and water are both provided by GRU, so you just get one bill.

^^Thanks for your input.
BTW If the internet service is included, is the connection usually stable? I’m asking this because from my experience, free wifi connection offered by an apartment was not reliable at all…

they usually are standard wired connections. you have to bring your own wireless router. they’re about as stable as your home cable internet.

It really depends on which apartment and your roommates as to how much utilities will be. I have had varying experiences depending on which apartment, who roomies were, etc.

It will be $120 total. $120 for a one bedroom, $60 per person for a two bedroom, $40 per person in a three bedroom, and $30 per person in a four bedroom.

Do you mind listing some apartments that offer wired internet connection? I tried looking them up on Swamprental, but found only few…

That’s pretty higher than I thought… I’m guessing 120bucks is without the internet.

pretty much any place that houses students is wired for internet. as for whether its included or not, all apartment complexes will advertise it if they offer it. come up with the list of places you’re interested in then worry about it. more likely than not, they’ll mention having it on their website.

also, i should qualify the figure i gave earlier about my utilities. i’m in a 4 room, so total utilities are around 120 as mentioned above.

It can be a bit more though depending on the type of apartment you live in, and obviously, how much you’re using electricity and water. I live in a 3 bedroom, and ours has ran anywhere from $30-$60, depending on the month. September was very high, because of how hot it was, and all 3 of us were cooking separate meals… I feel like ours is also on the higher side too, because we live in a townhome that has a thermostat on the top and bottom floor, so I think we use a bit more electricity than most normal apartments would…
