I took algebra 1 in my final year of middle school. In the first marking period i received a
93. Will this affect my 4.0, when applying to colleges.

oh my god relax

I know, I know, I know.
A 4.0 just looks a whole heck of a lot better than a 3.99999999998(jk)
on college applications.

do they even look at middle school grades? doubt it. Wow, what's an A at your place? Over here, a 92 is an A. Either way, i doubt that it should matter.

In certain circumstances, there maybe a "look back" to middle school that a GC should explain. For example, my S took Honors Algebra 2 when he was in 8th grade (he walked over to the HS right next door.) He also took Spanish through his language immersion elementary school, continued on in MS so he was taking AP Spanish Language by sophomore year.

At least these are good "back to the past" things to be mentioned.

"I took algebra 1 in my final year of middle school. In the first marking period i received a

first, that's middle school

second, a 93 in harvard's standards is an A (4.0) (really, many colleges are like this... an A is an A.. there is no difference between a 93 and a 100), as so at my school too

when they get your transcript when you apply, they create an unweighted GPA from their policies.. so if you have a 3.8 at your school where a 93 is a 3.7, harvard may recalculate that to form a new gpa (say, a 3.95)

relax... a 93 is still an A

wow! at my school a 90 is still an A. haha

no matter if your school views a 93 as not being an A, to harvard it is an A.. they recalculate your GPA according to harvard's standards when you apply.. a 90 to harvard is a 4.0 A just like a 100.. same thing to them

High school level courses that were taken in middle school appear on our transcript and are factored into our student's GPAs, so it does affect class rank. But other than that I don't think those grades make much difference at all with admission to elite colleges. An A- is not what it going to keep Harvard from accepting ou.

...

I don't even know how to respond to this.
