Hello, me and my boyfriend are interested in transferring to a four-year university soon and we decided that Florida State University looks good. We are currently in Michigan.

My question is: How selective is FSU for transfer students? We both have high GPA's, in the above 3.5 range. I worry that when the time comes, one of us might be accepted and the other rejected and that would suck, since we will be already planning to move to Florida. But if we both have high GPA's the chances of that should be slim, right? I have never heard of Florida State being very selective. Any info is appreciated, thanks.

Well they take about 50% of transfer students who apply, so it's not very selective. A 3.5 should do it

I'm at FSU now...it's not hard to transfer, though they're getting a lot tougher this year. But if you're above a 3.5, you should be ok granted the rest of your app is good too.

You will find no problem getting into FSU, and could even look at some schools with more difficult admissions. What about Michigan? Or do you want to go somewhere warm?

Well I'm not originally from Michigan, I'm from Florida and I want to move back down South. I would prefer to not have to sludge my way through the snow on the way to my college classes. :)

Well, I've always heard good things about FSU, that it's a good school and I know it's not as hard to get into as UF. I will probably also apply to UF just in case somehow I get rejected at FSU. But if FSU rejected me, surely UF would reject me too as I know it's more selective than FSU.

FSU isn't going to reject you, you can bank on an acceptance there. Might want to try U Miami as well if you can afford it/live with a mediocre aid package.

why dont you apply to UF ????. Your way above FSU'S standards. In order to go to FSU the requirements are a 3.0 above .

because UF just plain sucks...if you like fsu...you dont like UF...its a given rule that has been in the books for centuries. ('scuse my partisan beliefs)
